There’s a place in Berlin that can soothe your yearning for faraway lands: Panama, the restaurant.
In the book The Trip to Panama by Germany’s beloved children’s author Janosch, Little Tiger and Little Bear go on a trip to the land of their dreams – only to end up back home, where everything that once seemed old and commonplace is now wonderfully exotic and new. Just like Janosch, restaurateur Ludwig Cramer-Klett has created something new in familiar surroundings – the restaurant Panama at Potsdamer Straße in Berlin-Schöneberg.
Who’s the boss?
Ludwig Cramer-Klett. He also is the man behind the restaurant Katz Orange, which has been a perennial favourite of The New York Times since opening in 2012.
Who cooks?
Sophia Rudolph. The 31-year-old Berlin native grew up in France and has already worked at three Michelin-starred restaurants. Most recently she was sous-chef at the restaurant and wine bar Rutz.
