Success Stories

  • Veronika Kuželková, Assistant to General Manager at Vienna House Dvorak Karlovy Vary, on Zdeňka Spandrikova

Zdeňka joined the service staff at Vienna House Dvorak Karlovy Vary in August 1997. Professional, loyal and committed, she has been attending to the needs of our hotel guests for almost 25 years. When it was time for her to enjoy her retirement, she quickly realised that she missed the pleasure of working with the guests and her co-workers. So since 2015 she’s been back in full swing! Zdeňka is an example for new employees and she is loved by the guests. Her energy and her hard work and dedication are simply unbeatable.

  • Joanna Domanska, Front Office Manager at andel’s by Vienna House Cracow

I opened andel’s by Vienna House Cracow as Front Office Manager in 2007 and set up a fantastic team. Since I was 19 years old I’ve been in the hotel business and I love this job. In 2013 I became Quality Ambassador for the hotel and in 2015 I was chosen “VIctor”. Vienna House Academy, our management development programme, gives me the opportunity to develop myself even further. And I can do it in the one place where I feel at home and where I see my professional future! My promotion to Rooms Division Manager in December 2015 is my personal success and one of which I am proud.

  • Vladka Cervená , HR Manager at angelo and andel’s by Vienna House Prague, on Resident Manager Marek Páleník

Not many people can claim to have spent their entire lives working in the hotel business. Marek is one of them! Having gathered experience on a cruise ship, he returned to Prague and started as Restaurant Manager at andel’s by Vienna House before being promoted to Resident Manager in 2013. He loves his job: working in a team, with guests, colleagues and co-workers. In his private life, Marek also discovered his love of running and is eagerly pursuing his next goal: doing a triathlon. I’m sure he will reach his goal and that he will continue to be successful at Vienna House.

  • Tomas Kartin Malin, Assistant Housekeeping Manager at angelo by Vienna House Munich Leuchtenbergring

I started in the Housekeeping Team during the opening of angelo by Vienna House Munich Leuchtenbergring in 2008. My first years were exciting ones and the hard work and dedication have paid off: Since 2010 I’ve been Assistant Housekeeping Manager and I’m really proud of my achievements. You hardly ever see us, but nothing goes without housekeeping: We are the foundation of a hotel. The cultural diversity of the staff makes for an exciting workplace in which you hear new stories every day. Working together with my team, keeping the guests happy and making a difference – that is my be-all and end-all.

VIctor leadership programme

‘It is our responsibility as hoteliers to identify and encourage talent at Vienna House, and above all to offer forward-looking development opportunities’, CEO Rupert Simoner.

In VIctor, Vienna House offers an innovative new leadership program. Within 12 months, selected Vienna House employees undergo a tailored leadership program with integrated MBA modules.

The VIctor program consists of three modules: ‘Me & the Organisation’, ‘Me & the Hotel Trade’, ‘Me & the Team’. The program is supported by internal and external training courses at hotel level. The candidates work in various hotels, in various departments and are supported by the relevant hotel director (as a mentor) over several weeks. Group work, insight into the Corporate Office and individual workshops complete the program.

Prerequisites for taking part in the VIctor program include a minimum of five years' management experience, a year working in Vienna House, good English skills and geographical flexibility. Every employee who successfully completes the program is guaranteed a better position within the Vienna House Family – which has to be good news.
