LEISURE ACTIVITIES

EXPERIENCE COBURG

Coburg's official motto is "Werte und Wandel" (Values and Change). With its lovingly restored half-timbered houses, solid craftsmanship and green spaces, it's a typically idyllic Franconian town. Even today, its ancient market square still bustles with the comings and goings of small-town life.

  • COBURG'S ARTISTIC TREASURES

With the Veste Coburg fortress, the magnificent Ehrenburg Palace and the busy Landestheater, Coburg has plenty to offer for lovers of history and the arts. Schloss Rosenau and Schloss Callenberg are equally worth a visit.

  • ENJOY COBURG

The people of Coburg know how to enjoy life. The Steinweg is the city's longest promenade. Lebkuchen shop Wilhelm Feyler sells the legendary "Goldschmätzchen" biscuits, while "Coburger Mohr" chocolates can be found on Kirchhof. A whole region of taste lies waiting to be discovered.

  • TASTE COBURG

Coburg is definitely a place for lovers of good food. On Marktplatz you'll soon smell the local sausages being grilled over pine cones, and a stroll through town will take you past coffee roasting houses, butcher's shops and bakeries.

  • COBURG HIGHLIGHTS

When Coburg is not celebrating the world's largest samba festival outside of Brazil, rock and pop stars often give concerts here. Also not to be missed are the Schlossplatzfest, which is North Bavaria's biggest food festival, and the legendary Christmas market.

  • COBURG OUT AND ABOUT

The Coburg region is well known for its wide range of hiking trails and bike tours. Its rolling hills provide plenty of good riding for families, road racers and mountain bikers.
