EXPERIENCE LANDSBERG

Landsberg is a treasure trove overflowing with history, art and culture. Start off by exploring the medieval town of Landsberg am Lech. A small town with a high quality of life, its colourful mixture of shops, markets, cafés and rustic inns all adds up to bags of Bavarian charm. A stopover here is well worth lingering over.

  • LANDSBERG OLD TOWN

The lively old town is surrounded by well-preserved city walls with imposing watchtowers. Chief among these is the monumental Bayertor. Don't miss the triangular Marktplatz, the Alte Rathaus and the exquisite Johanniskirche, one of Bavaria's rococo jewels.

  • ENJOY LANDSBERG

From art to food, Landsberg offers many pleasures. The cultural scene ranges from classical theatre to contemporary dance, from chamber recitals to church concerts. Take a stroll to the mighty Lech weir or the historical Salzstadeln salt barns. Or just soak up the atmosphere at a beer garden.

  • TASTE LANDSBERG

From Schweinshaxe pork knuckle with dumplings to Swabian Spätzle (German noodles) and Dampfnudel rolls, Landsberg is a place of hearty traditional cuisine. The weekly regional markets sell a diverse range of produce such as fish, vegetables, cheese and chocolate.

  • LANDSBERG SPORT AND LEISURE

Whether hiking or on horseback, active holiday makers will love the Lake Ammersee region. Adrenalin junkies can get their fix rafting on the Lech weir or by taking to the high ropes at the Hochseilgarten Ammersee. The Skyline Park at Allgäu is a white-knuckle ride for young and old alike.
