EXPERIENCE DORNBIRN

  • FLYING HIGH ABOVE DORNBIRN

    The Karrenbahn cable car takes visitors up Dornbirn's local mountain, the Karren, and offers splendid views. At 971 m it is not a particularly high mountain but thanks to the panorama restaurant it is a popular tourist destination offering mainly Austrian cuisine. The Karren is also an ideal starting point for hikes.

  • HISTORY IN DORNBIRN

    The largest Rolls-Royce Museum in the world houses over 1,000 exhibits in a historic textile mill. Some individual pieces include King George V's safari touring car, King Edward VIII's limousine, the Queen Mother's Landauer, General Franco's parade car, the Rolls-Royce which was used in the film 'Lawrence of Arabia' and many more.

    The spectacular natural history experience Inatura is famous well beyond the town. Visitors young and old are introduced to a variety of natural history themes through interactive stations and “Science Zones”. The FLATZ Museum is devoted to the creative work of local contemporary artist Wolfgang Flatz.

    With around 2,000 km of signposted trails, you can hike past streams, mountain lakes and meadows to the most stunning places in the area. Biking is another excellent way of discovering the Bregenzerwald area. For golfers, three stunning golf courses await you in the Brengenzerwald area. Nearby Lake Constance offers an enticing variety of activities all year round.
