  • HISTORIC EKATERINBURG

The Shigir Idol, originally five metres high, was carved with stone tools and is 9,500 years old - twice the age of the pyramids of Giza. It is proof of the fact that the region around Ekaterinburg was inhabited far earlier than had long been thought. You can marvel at this unique artefact in the Sverdlovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore in Ekaterinburg.
