GREEN GLOBE CERTIFICATION
Keep a promise, think green. The hotel subjects itself to a re-certification process every year and only works with companies that fulfil the same environmental standards.

REGIONAL PRODUCTS
The chefs de cuisine are focused on using regional products from local providers. The sausage at the breakfast restaurant delight comes from Brandenburg, the craft beer in the California-style restaurant Mavericks is brewed in Friedrichshain and the whiskey at Loft14 is Germany’s first rye whiskey from Spreewood Distillers.

FROM FARM TO TABLE
Be regional is good, self-sowing and reaping is better. The hotel runs its own farmer's garden in Berlin-Ahrensfelde and gets fresh herbs directly from an indoor garden in the hotel.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Hang the little “sack” outside on your door and the housekeeping staff will skip cleaning your room that day. As a little thank you, you’ll receive a “green” gift for your contribution to the environment.
Collect crown caps at the restaurant & bar to get them recycled. The proceeds are donated to the local campaign “City Trees for Berlin” of Berlin’s Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection that uses the donations to plant and care for new trees in the city.

GREEN LIVING
Wind and water: the hotel uses 100% green electricity, relies on the use of low-emission materials and LED interior lighting in the entire hotel and event area.

BIODIVERSITY
The hotel guarantees that it does not prepare any protected animal species in the kitchen and that the hotel operations do not endanger any local animal species.

WHAT IS THE HOTEL STAFF DOING?
All employees prefer using the public transport or going by bike to get to work. They collect kilometers with a special bike app and generate donations for the campaign “City Trees for Berlin”.You can join them! Take the S-Bahn and trams or rent a bike stop right at the hotel’s doorstep.

AVOIDING EMISSION
The hotel works exclusively with suppliers whose vehicle fleet is certified with the green environmental sticker. Guests with electric cars can charge their vehicles with green electricity at the charging stations in the hotel garage.

ALWAYS MAKING IMPROVEMENTS
The aim of the hotel is to make meetings paperless by 2020. Ninety percent of paper used in the hotel is already converted to sustainably produced copy paper certified with the German ecolabel “Blue Angel”. Think green, stay digital.
