Metropolis with a heart
Munich is just a little cosier – whenever the sun shines, restaurants and cafés put out their tables on the sidewalks and people whip out their sunglasses. The inhabitants of Munich like to describe their hometown as Italy’s northernmost city. As buildings must not be higher than the Frauenkirche within the Mittlerer Ring highway, you never get the feeling of being in a metropolis, although the city has more than one million inhabitants. It feels like a relaxed city full of historic buildings. Munich is also a booming business location where many innovation drives are located – that‘s not apparent everywhere, though.
The exact location
The Vienna House Easy München is conveniently located at the Mittlerer Ring highway in Munich’s Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district. The Olympic Stadium, Theresienwiese, Marienplatz, Nymphenburg Castle and the banks of the river Isar – you can easily reach all the city’s attractions by bike, e-scooter, foot, tram or underground.

Kissed by the movie screen
The lovingly renovated Neue Maxim cinema that is more than 100 years old shows exquisite arthouse films. It’s just a five minutes’ walk from the hotel. True to its motto of showing new films in a classic atmosphere and enabling the audience to enjoy classics in a new way, this cinema is the place to be for all those who enjoy somewhat bizarre rarities and indie films. The Cinema München always shows international blockbusters in the original language and with the highest sound quality. Every Friday evening, there’s a sneak preview – of what? Well, you’ll only find out as soon as the film has started.

You can’t go wrong with ice cream
Many inhabitants of Munich consider Sarcletti on Rotkreuzplatz as the perfect classic Italian ice cream parlour. As soon as the temperatures start rising, people will be queuing even outside the shop – but waiting for a scoop of ice cream is definitely worthwhile and if you’re lucky, you may even manage to grab one of the few tables. The ice cream parlour Balla Beni Icecream Werkstatt offers ice production classes and a small exquisite selection of ice cream flavours for those who are daring enough to try new things – and you will always get a spoon of another flavour as a free trial.

The closest beer gardens
The small beer garden of the huge Löwenbraukeller restaurant on Stiglmaierplatz is perfect for enjoying your after-work beer and savoury Bavarian specialties at fair prices. If you have a little more time, you can go to the market and buy some specialties there and enjoy the real beer garden culture at the idyllic Taxisgarten in Munich’s Neuhausen district. As in every Bavarian beer garden, you may bring your own food, you just have to buy the drinks there.

If the weather is bad
Lenbachhaus houses the impressive collection of the Blauer Reiter artist collective. Paintings from Munich from the 19th century and numerous works of Joseph Beuys are also on display there. The neighbouring underground Kunstbau hosts changing exhibitions of contemporary art. The motto of the Neue Pinakothek is “From Goya to van Gogh”. As you may already have guessed from the way in which the word “Museum” is written, the Karl Valentin Musäum houses curious and exhilarating exhibits. The Deutsche Museum is a giant in the world of museums – according to its exhibition space, it’s even the world’s largest science and technology museum.
Getting there
By car
Take the A9 and leave at the exit München-Schwabing. Then take the A95 to München/Zentrum. From there go in the direction of the Garmisch-P./Lindau A95/A96 junction. Leave at the exit Neuhausen/Zentrum. Follow the road to the junction of Landshuter Allee/Nymphenburger Str. and make a U-turn. You will find the entrance to the undergroud car park at Landshuter Allee 46.
By train
- From Munich main railway station:
Take the underground U1/U7 to Olympia-Einkaufszentrum (3 stops); get off at the Rotkreuzplatz stop. From there it’s a walk of 350 metres to the hotel.
