Mummelsee

Not only in summer, but also in winter, the Mummelsee is worth a visit. Here you can experience winter in its most beautiful way. The frozen lake, snow-covered fir trees and wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and valleys make the trip a special experience. Even the small shops invite you to discover. You can also warm up over a hot chocolate in the Black Forest restaurant.

Classic Baden-Baden

Already the Romans flocked to the hot springs of Baden-Baden. Relax with a dip at the Friedrichsbad and the Caracalla Spa or drift off to the sea in the Salina Sea Salt Grotto. Then stroll through the open colonnade of the Trinkhalle in the Kurgarten or take a walk trough the famous Lichtentaler Allee before ending your evening the classic way in the Casino or at a concert in the Festspielhaus.

Hidden shopping

Leave the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian zone and the Bäderviertel behind you and explore the quiet Old Town. Tucked away in many small alleyways and inner courtyards you will find small winemaking businesses, creative goldsmith studios, artisanal workshops and exclusive second-hand boutiques.

Culinary Baden-Baden

Fancy a cup of coffee and a slice of cake? Then head for Café König. They say if you haven’t been here, then you haven’t been to Baden-Baden. For a perfect drink with cool beats between April and October, check out the Rooftop Bar at Roomers next door. And when it comes to gourmet restaurants in Baden-Baden, you’re spoiled for choice. Though you should definitely also try the good local cuisine. Because regional always tastes best.

Pure culture

If you’re a fan of modern and contemporary art, then the Museum Frieder Burda should definitely be on your agenda. A highlight is the space-light installation designed especially for the museum by James Turrell in 2018. Baden-Baden is a paradise of art galleries – don’t miss them!

Russian heart

Did you know that Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky and Pushkin all stayed in Baden-Baden? The Russian nobility not only shaped Baden-Baden’s high society, but also the town’s appearance. The Russian Church, built in the Byzantine style, is a true gem inside or out. So, too, the Stourdza Chapel on Michelsberg. More than 1,500 exhibits by Peter Carl Fabergé, jeweller to the czar, can be admired at the local Fabergé Museum. 

Surroundings

Fancy a little outing? Then perhaps a stroll to Mummelsee is just the thing. If that’s not adventurous enough for you, you can hike from here to the observation tower on top of the Hornisgrinde, the highest mountain in the Northern Black Forest, offering fantastic views of the entire Rhine Valley, the nature reserve and, with clear skies, all the way to France.
